Ground Maintenance and Public Liability |
|
MVRA are in negotiations with South Lanarkshire Council (SLC) in relation to adopting the common land within (and surrounding) the estate. These discussions are still ongoing and we are making good progress. As I am sure you will appreciate these things take time and we appreciate your support in helping the committee maintain these areas in the interim.
In relation to Public Liability, I have asked if SLC could adopt the play area / parks as a matter of urgency, as no company is willing to provide Public Liability insurance. This is a considerable blow and unfortunately puts us in breach of the conditions stated in our Title Deeds. We look forward to receiving an update from SLC shortly.

As seen in the last newsletter, MVRA have been pursuing ScottishPower in relation to the poor reinstatement in front of the substation in the middle park. We have had numerous correspondences with ScottishPower and while they initially refused to reinstate the tarmac, they finally agreed to reconsider their position. I'm pleased to advise they have now reinstated this section and I'm sure you will agree it looks significantly better.

Message from the Chairperson
I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who took the time from your busy schedules to attend the AGM. We all really appreciate it – it has taken a significant amount of dedication from the Committee to make the AGM happen and to have you all attend and show your support really meant a lot.
I would also like to thank those of you who have been maintaining the communal areas within the estate – with any luck we’ll be able to progress this to a more permanent external arrangement but again your efforts are very much appreciated.
Paul Tucker
Chairperson
